Web Design and Implementation
I can’t remember exactly what motivated me to start this website. It was probably something to do with my egotism. Since then I have learned that nothing teaches you web principles better than running your own website. As this site has evolved, so have my web development skills. My weapon of choice is currently Flash, including Actionscripting and animation, but I also have experience in CSS, PHP, of course HTML, and overall design concepts. Here you can view personal and for-client works that I have produced over the years.
naomimccolloch.com
Naomi is a New York based photographer. Her website is a JavaScript driven photo gallery based on design specifications, driven via database with a custom-designed back end simple image management system. This was a far more ambitious JS project with more complex rollover functionality, including scroll buttons that appear automatically if there are too many thumbnails to display on the page at once.
Feather-Flight Films
Feather-Flight Films is a film and documentary production group from, and I'm good friends with several members. They needed a new website, so I came up with a few mockup designs and we eventually settled on this one. The site is simply static HTML and CSS. This was more of a design project than a coding project. Go visit them and watch some of their movie trailers!
lilymakoski.com
I recently finished up this site for a photography major (the pictures aren't mine, to clarify). Site designed to client specifications for look and feel. Image information is stored in a database, read by PHP and handled through PHP, JavaScript, XHTML and CSS. This is my first time really experimenting with JS, and I'm very pleased with the result. Go check out her stuff!
Bubble's Revenge
After almost one full year in development, Bubble's Revenge is now ready for its public debut. Collect bubbles, avoid mines, experience cool power-ups! Submit your score and compare online globally! I composed a full score for the game as well as did complete sound design. Happy bubbling!
DelvarWorld.com Design
Rest in peace old friend. This is a previous design of this website. The Flash navigation is possibly one of my best creations in Flash animation to date. I spent many sleepless nights working on the menu system and the design, but now it's time to leave the past behind. This will still always be one of my favorite designs of this website. Goodbye.
Dymanic Thumbnail Gallery
This is a completely dynamic Flash thumbnail gallery that loads image data from an XML file. It can handle any number of images, and will automatically update the page numbers to handle more. The admin can also change the number of displayed rows and columns by chaning just two constant variables at the top of the program. The design was created to client specifications.
Fantasy Rec Ball Logo
A long time ago there used to be a high school fantasy rec ball league at my high school. This is a logo I made for that site, quite a few years ago.
Microscopic Septet Homepage
For a graphic design class I particpated in at RIT we were required to make an advertisement and a webpage for a band of our choice. I chose my favorite jazz group at the time, the Microscopic Septet. I'd recommend checking them out if you like jazz. This was the concept page I came up with.
"Spring"
During my freshman year at RIT one of the assignments in a web development class was to represent a season of our choice in a flash movie. The catch is that we could only use letters to represent objects. I chose Spring, hence the title of this animation. This is one of my more inspired animations to date, containing a full score that I composed.
Kirby Animation 2
Our Flash battle round one wasn't enough. We needed a tiebreaker to see who could animate Kirby better. This is my second animation, very unfinished, in which I tried to do as much as I possibly could with Kirby in a Super Smash Brothers Melee type of style. It's two Kirbys (Kirbies?) fighting to the death, one emulating my character of choice in Melee, Captain Falcon.
Kirby Animation
Also during my freshman year at RIT we had a ritual of naming every single week that occured. Very early on in the year we decided that it was "Kirby week" in favor of our favorite pink hero. The week name actually came about from an animation "battle" between me and my rival, who lived in the room next door. We challenged each other to see who could create the better animation involving Kirby. This is the first thing I made. Click on the little devil! Isn't he cute?
