I believe that one’s computer background is a representation of character. It directly reflects mood and personality changes. I create wallpapers to provide more diverse emoticons for the general public to get use out of. Every picture is created to tell a story and convey an idea. I hope that one of these some day is allowed to represent you at a stage of your life.

Stormy Sea

Out of the cupboard and into the boil, this is the tragic yet beautiful story of a teapot far from home. I rendered this at school at it is often my own background, simply because it is such a clean image. This was my first attempt at creating a computer background, and it turned out well.

Red Mountain

redmountainNH.jpg

A dramatic view of a treacherous yet beautiful mountain range under a pink and dying sky. Please forgive the height and width of the file, when I originally created it I didn't intend for it to be a background, so I didn't have height and width in mind. It will still work just fine if not slightly warped.

Fields of the Sky

You tie your shoe for the very last time, put on the last coat you'll ever wear, pull open your front door and fall twenty feet onto a grassy field. You hear your neck snap as you collapse into your final position. Ahead of you lies the endless fields of the sky, laid out as the last picture you ever can see. For the rest of your paralyzed days, left to stare at an amazing sight, you slowly forget about your pain and hunger and drift off into a gentle insanity, driven by the fact that one day you will be in a better place, if this isn't heaven already.

Gold

Did the sun explode? Did a beam of light hit a pollen seed? Who knows, but just before the camera snapped, this floated into view. This was based on a beginner’s tutorial for 3ds max on how to create photo-realistic glass. I toyed with it and twisted it into how I felt it should be, then created an object to match the texture, and here it is.

Gold Two

Apparently the sun did explode.

Sunstuck

Aurora borealis just off of the mountains. It's beautiful, isn't it? I absolutely love this picture, because of its explosive serenity. This was my first attempt of putting after-effects on a Terragen image, and it came out very nicely.

White Tide

I envisioned a calm picture, but something that was moving as well. I kept playing around with terrain settings until I came up with a good ocean view, but wasn't fully satisfied. So I pulled into PhotoPaint and this is the final, wonderful result. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Water Mountain

watermountainNH.jpg

I was looking to create something fun, and almost tropical, but with a sense of unease surrounding it. I created the mountain as the focus of the picture and worked from there. The color of the sky was probably the hardest part of this picture, because it has to reflect the nature of everything else. A peaceful but craggy lake, or just purgatory? You decide.

Ice Tree

Ah, beauty. When you have a good thing, like an ice texture, why not make beautiful works with it? This is the picture that I have been striving to make for all of these years. It is beauty in its coldest form, and I know that someone will click out of this page with a new background after seeing this image. This took about two hours to render, and about a day to model and texture, so get some enjoyment out of it. I'm very proud of this one.

Snowman

I was inspired by the snow outside my house...and how much I hate it. On a cold day, nothing is more inviting that remembering that it will soon be summer. I whipped this one together on a cold day, not all of the effects came out exactly as I had planned but I feel the overall result is very nice.

Boom

I followed a tutorial on how to make an explosion, spent a few hours tweaking the results, touched it up in Photoshop, and got this result.
