About this site

Who

Andrew RayI'm sorry, please, let me introduce myself. My name is Andrew Ray, the owner of DelvarWorld.com. As I currently write this I am twenty years old and a junior IT major at the Rochester Institute of Technology. My bio is rather lengthy, so here are some key points in my history: I was born in Kentucky in 1986, then I moved to Massachusetts with my family in the second grade, then to Virginia in 2006. Now I am in college. I have countless hobbies; all of them are my true creative outlets. You can probably discover a few of them by looking around

What

Welcome to my most glorious work of all, my online portfolio, my soapbox, and a growing community. DelvarWorld.com was founded by I alone on April 29th, 2003. It opened to the public some time around eight PM eastern time, but I really don't think you need to know that. The different sections of this site represent who I am. Each one has grown with the site, and you can generally judge my progress of skill in each area by comparing the earlier and later images. Everything that I apply myself to I make sure I explore fully; I hate to pick up a hobby and then drop it without developing it. Please, look around. Try to find everything we have to offer. You could join the ever growing community, perhaps get a chance to use the unique File Uploader, or maybe just relax and listen to some music. Maybe you'll even find some kind of secret areas! I try to update everything as often as possible, so if you're not busy please stop in from time to time to see what else I have cooked up. Go! Go now! Go explore! But make sure you come back here because this page has neat stuff too.

Delvar?

The term "DelvarWorld" has origins in calculator programming. I would say that if not for my father buying me a TI-82 for high school math, my life would be different in a way I cannot comprehend. During math classes I began to explore the calculator's workings; especially the programming aspect. Slowly, with the help of the TI-82 manual and website tutorials, I taught myself everything I know about basic programming with a calculator. It was when I bought a TI-83+ Silver Edition (now only available as an 84) that I got the idea for DelvarWorld.

The short answer to what Delvar means is the calculator programming command "Delete Variable." "DelvarWorld" literally means "Delete Variable: World." It's kind of cute. The long answer involves my fascination with exploiting bugs in the calculator's operating system.
