Renders and 3D Design

My first introduction to 3D design was in high school, when I started the four-year AutoCAD program. While AutoCAD is more of an architectural program, it introduced me to the workflow and concepts common to most 3D applications. My junior and senior year of the course I began experimenting with 3ds max, which is my choice program today. I try to incorporate 3D design into many portions of the site. I’m sure you can find a few old 3ds max projects by looking into other sections as well.

Low Poly Weaponry

Also for the first person shooter engine, here are some low polygonal weapons I have in progress. The pistol and the grenade are currently animated, and the sniper rilfe is still under progress.

Plant Temple Alpha

3ds max

This is a level I have been working on for my first person shooter engine. The "Plant Temple" is a uniquely designed multi-story building, which lacks furnishing. The design was inspired by a random Google image.

Glass

Recently I updated my version of 3ds max, and while looking for old files to clean up I found this glass which I had made a long time ago to test a glass texture. With my new found knowledge of advanced lighting for scenes, I did a test render, and really liked the results. I hope you do too.

The Last House

MS Paint

A retarded beauty surrounded by the wasteland; the sky is scorching and the ground is crumbling. The heavens and soils are dying, as the eart readies herself for the end.

Smacky

One of our AutoCAD class projects was to model a plastic M&M toy of our choice (there were quite a few). I, obviously, chose the blue one in the top hat, then made him cool, suave and sexy.

Cyber Knight's Cyber Knight

AutoCAD 2002

Here is yet another Cyber Knight clan image, made entirely with AutoCAD, this is Cyber Knights' Cyber Knight, a team mascot idea I came up with that didn't exactly fly well with the Tribe, but the image is worth keeping. This one took a long time to perfect, because AutoCAD isn't exactly the most artistic program. But here's the finalized product, a fun little image. Semper fi, always faithful.

The Ocean

Terragen

Somewhere north of the Atlantic.

Hallway

3ds max

This was originally going to be a part of the old website's navigation, but I was unable to fit it in. So I enlarged the render and turned it into artwork. I wanted to create something moody, terrifying, and realistic. Imagine looking into an insane asylum, alone, down the abandonded top-security wing. Was that a cell door opening? Did something just breathe?

Stack of Ice Cubes

3ds max

One day I was on the quest to create the perfect ice cube texture. I think I came pretty damned close.

Spider

3ds max

Well, if you don't scream, then enjoy this rendering of my hairy little crawly friend. I was going to animate him moving, but a spider's movement is so intricate I was afraid that I would badly screw it up and I wouldn't be able to mimick the spider's freaky movements.
