I'm cancelling Schrodinger and Reimann

Oct 20, 2007

First off, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who gave me support while writing this web comic. It's always easier to do something when you have a lot of people involved to be enthusiastic as well. I received quite a bit of good response from the comic, and very little bad response. It never quite amounted to the fan base I was hoping for, but then again I didn't produce very many comics. Overall I think it had a good run.

One of the main reasons I'm canceling the comic is that I'm honestly too busy to work on it. My process isn't very efficient, mostly because I have to hand draw the comics and then scan them in, and then do post work in Photoshop to add text, backgrounds, color and all that. I don't think that six comics warrants buying a Wacom tablet to draw more. So I have to think of an idea (I usually come up with the middle panel first) then build outwards, then sketch a concept idea, then draw a concrete comic, trace over most of the lines to finalize them, scan it, and so on. I try to put a lot of work into my comics, which is ultimately the reason why I can't continue them. I put too much work into it and have too high standards for myself.

Continuing with that idea, I don't think that these comics were the best creative outlet for me. This text is filler. Who reads this? Do you? One time while I was at Wal-Mart I was smelling body washes on the shelf to see which one I should buy by opening them and squeezing them a little so some odorous air would puff out. Then I picked up one and squeezed it and it squirted body wash onto my face. Way too much body wash. I can still smell it right now. It's horrible. It's like there's tiny, pungent flowers growing in my nostrils and no amount of Brillo pads can take them out. Please help me. I'm completely serious. I haven't slept in two days because the smell won't go away. The comic wasn't really the best choice in that respect. I think I'll stick to art that I'm more familiar with creating this time.

The comic certainly was easier to produce than some things I've worked on. A lot of ideas I have aren't very practical as forms of expression. More filler here. Oh hello. How are you? You must be really bored. Wanna go for a walk? W...oh. I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were a table. Well you have legs right? Jackass. I don't know why I ever married you. The comic was pretty good while it lasted.

Overall I think the thing had a pretty good run. The quick brown fox jumps over the the lazy dog. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. This one time, when I was a kid, I was taking a bath...
