It is the summertime
Jun 21, 2007
I've been watching a lot of movies recently. Summer is a great time for just lounging around and catching up on artsy films. The list thus far includes Lady Vengeance and Old Boy, which are two violent Korean films about vengeance. There's also Battle Royale, Michael Moore's new Sicko (as disturbing as the rest of them), Amilee, a French film (excellent), and some Spanish film with "sex" in the title but if I Google "sex movie" to try to find it I don't quite get the results I want. Damn you internet!
Tomorrow marks the end of the third week that I've been working. The job is going great; it's rewarding and challenging and the atmosphere is very laid back and friendly. I've been doing top secret work for AOL which I can't disclose to mere laymen like yourselves, among other projects. I also received my first paycheck last week, very exciting.
The first bit of news is that I've opened a new domain name for game glitching, appropriately named The Game Glitching Forums. It's an experiment I've been tossing around in my head ever since the Day of Defeat glitching section on the old website. Traffic is low right now and I haven't put a lot of work into it, mostly because I'm busy with my job, life and etc. It hasn't totally shriveled up yet, which is a good sign. Don't forget to spam it to everyone you know!
Secondly, there's a new website added to the Web Portfolio, which is Feather-Flight Films. It's a group of good friends from back in Massachusetts, and I actually said I would make their site in high school but I never did. Recently they were looking for a designer to build them a new site, and after a deal fell through they came to me. This time I actually got around to making the site. There's very little actual code; it's a static page and the focus was really more on the design. I'm pleased with it, which is obvious otherwise I wouldn't be putting it on my portfolio.
If you look carefully on the navigation bar there's a slight design change, which is the blue square turns to a white plus when it's selected, and the text loses the hyper-link. Sometime in my boredom I wrote an array parsing function which automates the navigation display, and more technical hocus -pocus. There's also another site in the works right now, no planned launch date but it should be soon. There was also going to be some new pictures because I went out night shooting a construction site with my house mate, but I'm not satisfied with how any of my shots came out so that's still on hold.
